Hello Beauties, How have you been?

It’s been a while I posted here and I sincerely apologise for the delayed silence. Thank God for keeping us all and making us alive, we are not more righteous or holier than those who passed on to the other side since the beginning of this year.

So, it’s been a busy month, because of my upcoming US Tour and I’m grateful to God for making it so. How I love my job as a makeup artist!!!

Today, I’m sharing a face mask recipe. This mask is made up of different edible ingredients that you can readily find in your kitchen. This mask is called a MUD MASK. The benefits of this mask include the following:

  • Mud mask detoxifies and cleanse the pores on the skin and also allow them to breathe
  • It tightens the skin and thereby reduce wrinkles
  • Mud Mask also improves your skin texture

To produce this edible face mask you will need:

  1. 1 tsp. Lemon Juice
  2. 1 tsp. Honey
  3. 1t tsp. Buttermilk
  4. 1 tsp. Cocoa powder
  5. 2-3 Tbsp. Greek Yogurt
  6. ½ of a Banana

So why did I choose these Ingredients? This is what I got from the research I made about these ingredients before I eventually settled on them.

LEMON JUICE: It contains Vitamin B and C. The citric acid in this juice exfoliates the skin, leaving it feeling smooth.

HONEY: It is beneficial for all types of skin because it helps the skin retain both elasticity and moisture.

BUTTERMILK: Milk is a natural pro-biotic lactic acid so, it can be used to soften, brighten, tighten and exfoliate the skin.

COCOA POWDER: Cocoa is rich in antioxidants such as iron, calcium, magnesium, and potassium. It rejuvenates the skin, leaving it softer than before.

GREEK YOGURT: This contains lactic acid which exfoliates and smoothes the skin. It also loosens dead cells in the body.

greek yogurt

BANANA: This fruit functions as a face mask itself. Applying mashed banana to one’s face leaves it softer and moisturized. Banana is high in potassium and can be used to heal blemish.

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a blender or food processor and mix properly.
  2. Make sure the mask is thick enough so that it doesn’t come running down your face after application
  3. Apply a layer of the mask to your face and allow it to sit for about 30 minutes
  4. Wash off with cool water, followed by a splash of cold water to close your pores.

There you go you just made and administered a mud mask on yourself by yourself. I hope you liked the after effect? I was impressed when I tried it because, the skin on my face actually felt softer and smoother after the mask application.

The beautiful thing about this homemade mask is that it gives you the same effect as the mask you buy from the store. But unlike the store-bought face mask you can actually eat your leftover ‘Mud Mask’. It’s so yummy mine tasted like a chocolate banana smoothie.

What’s your thought about the mask? Have you tried it? I would like to your know end result. Don’t hesitate your share your thoughts with me. They make me super happy.
